Frequently Asked Questions
How do group sizes work?
Every ShowBuild user can create a group and add up to five members at no cost. This makes it easy for small teams to collaborate using Notes, Running Times, and messaging without a subscription.
You can also join as many other groups as you’d like, regardless of their size.
For users who want to create more groups or manage larger teams, subscription options are available.
How can I access ShowBuild?
ShowBuild is currently available as an invite-only beta through Apple TestFlight. Access is limited while we refine features and gather feedback from early users.
A broader public beta is coming soon to the Mac App Store.
At this time, ShowBuild is available exclusively for macOS. Versions for Windows and mobile devices are not yet supported.
Does ShowBuild include messaging?
Yes. ShowBuild includes both group chat and direct messaging.
Group chat allows your entire team to communicate in a shared, organized space tied to your project. It’s ideal for production-wide updates, note discussions, and collaborative decision-making.
Direct messaging lets you have private one-on-one conversations with individual collaborators when you need a quick clarification or a more focused exchange.
All messages are encrypted, so your conversations stay secure and accessible only to the intended participants.
What are the system requirements?
ShowBuild is currently available for macOS 26 and later.
The app relies on modern Apple security frameworks and system-level encryption features introduced in macOS 26. To ensure full functionality, performance, and data protection, earlier versions of macOS are not supported.
We recommend keeping your Mac up to date to receive the latest security updates and compatibility improvements.
What are my support options?
Please click the Contact Us tab at the top of the page and email us with any questions or issues. We will respond promptly.
How does ShowBuild protect my notes and messages?
ShowBuild uses end-to-end encryption to protect notes and text messages. This means your content is encrypted on your device before it is sent and can only be decrypted by authorized members of your team.
Encryption keys are securely stored in your macOS Keychain and are never accessible to ShowBuild servers. Even we cannot read your encrypted notes or messages.
Your production conversations and creative notes stay private — accessible only to the collaborators you choose.
